The kids decided they wanted to paint egg cups to make a few more tiny spring baskets. Little brother was in charge of the glitter, if you can't tell. They finally got tired after painting 23 cups. Twenty three!
Big sister, age 5, decided that of course she was mature enough to handle an awl--duh!--and she surprised me by carefully poking holes in all 23 egg cups and their corresponding handles without any problems. I think that makes 92 holes, and not a speck of blood.
Then we realized we needed something to go in all of these baskets. We
got out the Peace Fleece, the Dr. Bronner's soap and a basin of water and got to work. Little
brother wadded up some fleece and made a sodden mess. Big sister,
clearly on a crafty high, sat patiently for an hour or more and created these lovely eggs.
Lots of folks have nice Easter craft round-ups on their sites. A few to check out:
And look! A tiny spring basket at Elemental! Be sure to see all the beautiful jewelry and metalwork, too. I have quite a wish list that I hope to fulfill one of these days . . .
